What to do on a rainy sunday?
The Australian Museum offers so many different things to learn and see about history and wildlife of native Australia.

We enjoyed:
Bayalla Nura
celebrating Australis`s Aboriginal and Torres Strati Islander cultures through a rich diversity of objects and stories of living culture.

Garrigarrang: Sea Country
From the Sydney Basin to Torres Strait, discover and celebrate the rich cultures of Australia’s Salt Water People, who have lived and flourished on Garrigarang nura (sea country) for tens of thousands of years

Participating in native dancing

The Long Gallery
showcases 100 treasures from the collections alongside the stories of the 100 people who’ve helped shape Australia.

Dinosaurs
Of course there was also a gallery about dinosaurs...!

and finally
Unsettled
a First Nations-led and informed exhibition giving insight into the lived experience of First Nations people over the last 250 years.
Or more bluntly White Australia has a black history.... I would like to take time for this topic which touches me deeply. But if you can`t wait you can start here reading about
how this country was taken by force
how killing was colonial tactic to break resistance of native people defending their homeland and families
how all acts of genocide have happened to First Nations people
about the stolen generations .... little babies and children were taken away from their families for decades (until the 1970s !!)
....

Toch niet alles op een dag gedaan hoop ik? :D
