20 - 21 April 2024
Before leaving for the outback, we take the time to get to know Adelaide a little better.
It is a possibility the coming year we move here to work/live here. Again many things are possible, and many don`t happen, still...
We do like Adelaide :
- So much calmer than Sydney, less crowds, more space.
- Very bicycle friendly! We see cyclists and cycle paths everywhere. Of course, Adelaide is flat, compared to hilly Sydney.
- Beautiful architecture around the Riverbank Park
- Lots of history, beautiful small old buildings with charm: Railway Station,
- Interesting free museums: the ancient state library, art gallery, ...
- Even the suburbs at the seaside are calm (it is possible to find parking) with really nice vibes, cafes, playgrounds, ... Glenelg and Henley were very nice.
- And finally, even the sea is calm. Unfortunately, no waves at all. But we see people paddling and rowing on the peaceful sea waters.
And then we leave Adelaide behind. It takes only 20min driving to be suddenly surrounded by dry brown grass lands . How is it possible the world stops so suddenly?
Lewiston Vinyards
We search for our Hipcamp destination in a field along a vineyard. Upon arrival, Tristan and i leave for our weekly run. This week it is a slow 70min jog/walk, we complete 8km.
Chloe and Aiko prepare dinner (help!): sushi with tuna and avocado (but without seaweed). A bit of a mess. We are glad with our 'self-sufficient' motorhome, when suddenly surprised by a poo incident. What great to have a warm shower at hand. End good, all good ;-)
