New experience today, a visit to the local emergency services.
Aiko cut her forehead falling on the edge of a timber balance beam in the playground at pre-school.
So i was called at work to come immediately and we made a trip to the Royal North Shore Hospital to get the wound glued.
Aiko was really brave, hold the ice to her forehead herself, and kept on smiling and asking why mom had come home `sooooo early` today!?
We went through 6 rounds:
Triage: questions (vomiting, headache, unconsciousness?), taking temperature, heart rate, personal details
Admin: for passport and insurance details
Arrival at Paediatrics : same questions, taking temperature and heart rate,, weight (for IF they have to give medecine)
Numbing the wound with a creme (30min)
Preparative Doctors visit : asked same questions a third time (vomiting, headache, unconsciousness?)
Bit more waiting
And then finally cleaning, gluing and done!
Big smile on Aiko`s face as she gets a yummy ice block from the Doctor.
All good!
