Over the least weeks we have been planning our first road trip! In April we will bridge 2 long weekends, so we can leave Sydney for 10 days.
What is most typical of Australia ?
The Outback of course...!
Into the red dessert we will go ... !

I got a partner in crime (even two ! Thomas and Tristan) to help me looking for camping spots, calculate kilometres in Google maps, and bring all information together in this beautiful map.

We will drive all across New South Wales to its North Eastern border, Tibooburra.
From there we drive through the Outback on Silver City highway to the Southern border.
And then 1200km back to Sydney.
Our total trip is 3145km, 36 hours driving and 9 sleep-overs.

In the outback we will sleep every night in another National Park:
Gundabooka NP
Stuart NP
Mutawintji NP
Kinchega NP
Mungo NP
Those national parks have most often no shower, no toilet, you have to bring our own water and firewood.... ... but they do have incredible NATURE!
We are equiped with a 20liter water tank, a fridge, a battery, a compact cooking set, tents and sleeping bags,....
And don`t worry, of course we will be able to find fuel, water and food supplies when crossing a village (every other day? ).
I wonder how the kids will like the road trip. The hours in the car could be challenging, we will listen lots of children songs, play I Spy, and Alfabet games.
And we might not always sleep, eat, sleep, as we imagine. Weather could bring some challenges as well.
We will see ...!! 😊
This kind of trip is sure one of the main reasons of coming to Australia.
I am thrilled with excitement, and can`t wait to be in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the impressive vastness and the amazing beauty of our red earth .... !
