Change of plans

Today we were supposed to travel Down Under. Our visa and travel exemptions are ready since a month, but.... yes there is a but. As the weeks a passed, it appeared to be very difficult to find flights to Australia as entry quota were drastically reduced by the government.

In the middle of the final rush, while moving out of our home, we got the final verdict: first possible flight for the 5 of us was only September 28 ... !

What a shock! What shall we do? With no home, no job for Thomas, no school for the kids, .... How to organize our lives? We can't stay on the road, living with family for 2 months....

I tried to switch off all questions in my head, my worries, and decided to focus on the packing & moving out, and keep our new challenges for later.

Once moved out, going back to work, the kids having holidays with my parents, i booked a hotel room to be alone for some serious internet research: i looked for summer camps for the kids, furnished appartments, nannies, schools, etc and one week later we had a new plan:

we decided to move to Brussels for the time being, get the kids immerged in English, and our new Australian employer allowed us to start both in our new jobs while still overseas.

Problem solved ! :-)
