10. Goodbye at Kuranda

Today is our last day. We stay at an idyllic and colourful hipcamp site, look at the views with a beautiful view over the lakes.

Kuranda is a nice little town surrounded by rainforest. We choose a hike through the rainforest and we get to see an impressive panorama on the Barron Falls.

Back in Kuranda we visit Birdworld:

And then it is time for the most important activity of today. The one which all kids have all been looking forward to: our goodbye party. We make sure to have firewood, marshmellows and start the evening early. Bert is preparing us a delicious dinner! The evening is long and perfect, with games and dancing, food and drinks, friends both young and old having a wonderful time togehter.

This morning we wake up to leave. After 14 unforgettable days together, we share some last big hugs between friends forever and go....

Goodbyes are always sad, but even more when you live 17 000km away and you don`t know when will be the next time. Big tears keep on rolling over my cheeks on the way home.

What has this been such a great journey! These two families are a perfect match, so much things we love in common. I hope to share another joint adventure one day !
