Kakadu National Park

Kakadu National Park is World Heritage and the biggest terrestrial Park of Australia, half the size of Switzerland. The land has been given back to the Garudja and Bininj people in 1989 and they are leasing their land.

The Eastern border is marked by a 500km long escarpment offering spectacular views on Arnhem Land, a great plain which is Aboriginal Trust Land.

Did you see the big white cloud in the sky? We wonder where the smoke is coming from. I will tell you more about white fire soon.

Rock Art at Ubirr

The escarpment at Ubirr has always been a great place to camp and find shelter, and therefor we find here one of the most spectacular collections of rock art : rainbow serpent, storytelling, first encounters with white people.

Setting up our camp at sunset.

Waking in up in a room with a view :-)
